A Gift from Okinawan Islands

This album is an anthology of Japanese-Okinawan songs, including "Nada-Sousou," the new standard of Japanese popular music. All songs here are in comfortable slow tempo and most of them are accompanied only by an acoustic guitar (sometimes a SANSHIN -- an Okinawan string instrument -- is added) except the first one. Rimi's clear high voice is unique and very charming. This is really "healing music" in the best sense of the word. I have listened to it perhaps more than hundred times since I got it about a year ago, and still now, I find it as fresh and impressive as I heard it for the first time. I recommend it to anyone who loves music and has some sympathy with such a phrase as "from heart, to heart" (Beethoven).

Minami-Kaze (Southern Wind) contains:

1. Nada-Sousou (Tears Falling Fast) [Japanese]
2. Warabi-Gami (Innocent Child) [Okinawan]
3. Kogane-no Hana (Flower of Gold) [Japanese]
4. Irayoi Tsukiya-Hama (Nostalgic Moonlight Beach) [Okinawan]
5. Tinsagu-nu Hana (Balsamine Flower) [Okinawan]
6. Hana (Flower) [Japanese]
7. Nada-Sousou [Okinawan version].
