Naughty By Nature Review

To qualify as a classic, a rap album must be solid from start to finish, containing no fillers, all thrillers. The musical production should match the lyrical skills of the MCs and the artist should posses his or her own style and flavor. Naughty By Nature's self-titled debut can rightfully be called timeless. When it dropped in 1991, the global hip-hop community took notice, and its stature stands years later. Featured here is the sing-along club classic "O.P.P." Queen Latifah spices up "Wickedest Man Alive" while Lakim Shabazz guests on the Luis "Louie Louie" Vega-produced "1,2,3." This iz da ONE!!

If you call yourself a true Hip-Hop follower, your CD collection is no where near complete without a copy of this album. The beats on this CD are some of the best. Treach put himself out there as one of the top MC's right from the start. So if you ain't got it.....GET IT!!!

Smoke up the Joker!

Comming out of the projects (slums) of East Orange, NJ, Naughty By Nature consists of MC's Treach, Vinnie & Kay Gee. You have to love Treach's MCing skills about racism, violence, hardknocks, drug dealing, and of course songs about the ghetto! Naughty By Nature go str8 up hard on the song Yoke the Joker which is a wicked song about growing up in the projects, take the Jackson 5's ABC and Naughty have the hit song O.P.P., Ghetto Bastard (Everything is Goin' to be Al'right) is actually a sad song about growing up in the projects, and the song Pin The Tail On The Donkey is another quick classic from New Jersey's own Naughty By Nature.

Bump in the album, light up a bowl and put in Naughty's Nicest songs *1, 2(featuring Queen Latifa), *3, *4, 5, 6, 7, *8, 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13, ah screw it.....everysong smokes the Joker!
