This album is Misfits at its best!, original Raw punk, with a horror theme, yet the music is very melodic and will stick in your head for hours.
Songs like : Astro Zombies, 20 Eyes and I turned into a martian. are classic examples of this.
If your new to Misfits, i would advise buying this album, and if you already like the misfits, you will probally most definately allready own this album! :)

Brains for dinner, Brains for lunch... still not as good as Static Age

I really tried to like this album as much as 'Static Age', I really did. It has some really great songs on it, 'Astro Zombies', 'Skulls', 'Brain Eaters', etc... I guess its an aquired taste that I'm just warming up to. I mean, the first time i put it in, I didnt listen to it all the way through. I dont know what I was expecting... I guess something more organic sounding the way their first release was... but now I am getting into it. Not enough to give it a full five stars, but I think four is enough. It is really good music, but its just not 'Static Age'...

The Ramones started the stripped down, dessert only approach to rock music, but I believe that the Misfits added the testosterone and the muscle that brought it to the amped up music you have today - with like the Offspring and Pennywise. This is where it all begins- Walk Among Us. What is this album, like 27 minutes long or something? Just the right amount of time to inject you full of adrenalin for your drive to your horrifying, soul-crushing job.
Seriously, the first two songs rip and then the rest, especially "Nike a go go", with it's "a go, go, a go, go" chant near the end are all intros to the absolutely glorious Hatebreeders, an anthem of straight brutality and comedy.
Which is kinda interesting to bring up since some seem to tie some type of campiness to the Misfits - that's more the new Misfits everyone, not the old school with Glen Danzig. Do a lyric search on say "Who Killed Marilyn?". There is nothing camp about that, in fact it's pretty offensive, but look at these mofo's in the band:
4 demonic looking pro wrestlers that somehow managed to make beautiful, melodic, mean as an angry hornet, timeless nuggets of tasty punk rock. Anyone for some rotten, f*c**n' guts?
