Linda Eder - It's Time
It's Time Review
Frank Wildhorn may get mixed reviews for his Broadway shows, but there's little question the man can write a pop song, and his greatest advocate happens to be his wife, Linda Eder. Preceding her 1999 breakout hit It's No Secret Anymore, It's Time is a superior pop album from 1997 that shows off the best of Eder--her vocal power, her dazzling high notes, her sense of swing, her tender balladry. Most of the songs are by Wildhorn (including "Only Love" from The Scarlet Pimpernel and "Candle in the Window" from The Civil War), but there's also "Over the Rainbow" (gorgeously rendered with only piano accompaniment), "Man of La Mancha" (a showstopper she performed at Carnegie Hall), and Nine's "Unusual Way." There's even a Big Anthem, "Children of Eden," that with its pennywhistle solos foreshadows the theme song from a certain big-ship movie released later that year. Watch out, Celine Dion! --David Horiuchi

I'm Wearing This CD Out By Playing It Too Much

It's Time was the first CD that I bought by Linda Eder. And, it has proved to be one of the best presents I ever bought for my husband and myself.

Her voice is such a gift. Her range, her style of performing a song, plus the orchestration on this CD is top notch. Somewhere Over the Rainbow is super, Most Unusual Way is very meaningful to me, and The Children of Eve is so haunting - there is not one song on this CD that I do not enjoy. With each song I experience different emotions; some are so beautiful I cry, others are so upbeat that if I could sing, I would give her a run for her money, but thankfully for everyone around me I can't. I grew up with Stresand and loved her and still do. But it is Linda's time now, and I am so glad that I found this CD.

I have now just today bought my 3rd CD by her. The second CD was GOLD, and now today I bought Best of Broadway. And to top it all off when she is in Verona, NY on April 5 of this year, my husband and I will be in the audience - can't wait!

Look forward to hearing more of her in the future - she definitely is a keeper!

I don't know where I've been - under a rock I suppose, but Linda Eder's voice is magnificent. This is a wonderful album for anyone who loves that big ballad sound. As a long time Streisand fan, I've found a new musical passion - Linda Eder's voice. "I'm Afraid This Must Be Love" is so lyrical if defies description. "Someone Like You" - written for her voice, I'm sure, is pure perfection!! This is just a wonderful recording

Normally, I don't listen to this type of music

I usually don't listen to this kind of music, but Linda Eder is one of the rare exceptions. She has an amazing voice, and this album proves it! This whole cd is good from beginning to end. Buy it. Especially buy it if you are going to take a trip to NY in the winter. The album will act as the soundtrack to the trip when you enter from NJ.
