One of his better efforts

"All Good Things (gotta come to an end)" Jackson sings but let's hope that the albums that came after this one don't persuade us to take him literally when it comes to his career. Browne has always written his best stuff when he's nursing a bad heartbreak and this one fits that bill nicely. "Sky blue and black" "The two of us" and "Too many angels" are just three of the great songs on this one. Will someone break his heart again soon so he'll get back on track? The last two were mediocre at best.

Timeless Songs of Love and Loss

Jackson Browne has spent an illustrious career articulating the sometimes unsayable. His politics set the world on notice in the 70's 80's and 90's. His sense of loss on Late for the Sky brought words to the unknowable.
On this CD, Browne has articulated what it means to care with every sinew, and to fail. What poetry in music! Try it if you've ever loved and lost. You'll be healed in the hearing.

His best in my view

A concept album revolving around the breakup of a relationship. Despite every song taking the same lead in terms of inspiration, every song is different.

I was amazed when this CD was released. There is not one bad song here and some of the lyrics are the most poetic you will ever hear. The title track rocks as does MILES AWAY and the heartbreaking additions include TWO OF ME, TWO OF YOU, SKY BLUE AND BLACK and TOO MANY ANGELS represent some of the best songs of the 1990s.

Buy this CD if you have just broken up with someone or if you just want to hear great songwriting at its best.
