Gwen Stefani - Love. Angel. Music. Baby. (Deluxe)
Love. Angel. Music. Baby. (Deluxe) Review
In her own unique way, Gwen Stefani has managed to shift our culture since coming onto the scene as the lead singer of No Doubt. With years of defining style and 30 million in record sales under her belt, she will again turn heads with this debut record that is as fresh as it is retro and as progressive as it is feel-good familiar.

With this project, she has enlisted some of the biggest names in music (Dr. Dre, Eve, The Neptunes, Andre 3000, Nellee Hooper, Dallas Austin, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Linda Perry and Tony Kanal) to create a genre bending masterpiece that is guaranteed to be one of the most talked about records of this year (2004) and beyond.

LIMITED EDITION DELUXE VERSION - The Limited Edition Deluxe Version will include the full CD with an expanded package featuring:

- Fabric wrapped, gold embossed, hardcore digipak - Book style layout with gold ribbon bookmark - Plus a custom CD case designed by Gwen

Gwen Stefani's album is friggin' awesome! Yes, her more popular songs (i.e. "Cool," "Hollaback Girl," "luxurious") are on there, but even the songs that haven't been on the radio yet rock! I like how her songs have sort of a retro feel to them, but are still very hip to today's culture. A very good CD to add to your collection!

I didn't expect this album because I don't like No Doubt but I was shocked. I won a free copy of it's vinyl Picture disc LP (you can see my customer images). She combines the sounds and lyrics of 70s, 80s, 90s, dance, hip-hop, electronica and R&B into one great album. To me, the song "Rich girl" is a reflection of what all us girls want : money and lots of it (and by the way Gwen, You're alreeady a Rich girl. You make money off your record sales. I don't.) "Hollaback girl" is a classic cheerleading, pom-pom extravaganza type song but I wouldn't suggest playing it in schools for cheeleaders (becuase of the lyric "this my S#!+)". Oh, and thanks for teaching illerate people spell Bananas. "Luxurious" has a great instrumental track (it samples "Between the sheets" by the Isley Bros. Which was also sampled for Notorious B.I.G.'s {RIP} "Big Poppa"). The best song on the album is "long way to go" featuing Andree 3000 from Outkast. it is a great song with a great message about racial tollerance. It also samples a very important part of Marin Luther King Jr.'s "I have a dream" speech. Anyways, if you don't already have this album, buy it now. It will bot dissapoint you.
