Gianna Nannini is a talented Italian Rock star whose "I Maschi" from this CD has been featured in the movie "Il ladro di bambini" (stolen children). Her raspy voice is her trademark and never gets tiring. I have four of her CDs and continue to search for more. Anyone who like this one will also like her CD "Dispetto." Ciao.

That's how I would describe Gianna to any American who has never heard her. Some might call her a female Rod Stewart (she has indeed toured with him) but I think she's better than that. On this CD, I maschi especially has that magic Spector quality. Personally, I think that song itself makes this CD worth every penny. There are some other super recordings on this CD too (what would you expect? These are her greatest hits, and Gianna is indeed the "Queen of European Rock.") I especially like Bello e impossibile and fotoromanza, but there are plenty of others. Unfortunately for me, I don't care for a few of the extra hard rock songs on here, maybe 3 or 4, but I just skip over those. If you like that type of rock, then you'll probably give this one 5 stars. There's about 75 minutes of music here, so you really are getting your money's worth, even if you don't like the whole CD. Gianna rocks!
