Frank Sinatra - Classic Sinatra
Classic Sinatra Review
Few would dispute that Frank Sinatra was one of the greatest popular singers of the 20th century. His voice had distinct power and majesty, whether he was belting out a swinging dance number or softly crooning a tender ballad. When he was at his height, no one could touch him, and the songs collected on Classic Sinatra showcase the range of his talent. Recorded during his memorable run for Capitol Records in the 1950s, the songs here are more than just his best, they're often the definitive recordings: "I Get a Kick out of You," "Young at Heart," "Witchcraft," "The Lady Is a Tramp," "In the Wee Small Hours," and "I've Got You Under My Skin." Like almost everything Sinatra recorded during this period, there isn't a dud to be found, which makes Classic Sinatra a perfect introduction to the work of this truly great talent. --Robert Burrow

If You Like Buble, You'll Adore This!

Michael Buble's great but he has some ways to catch the guru of the genre. If you want to hear where Buble's main inspiration comes from, here is the place. Although the Frank Sinatra catalog is huge, you can't go wrong with the track selections that are here, all 20, that fit into one disc. They are all standards of which many have been covered by Buble. What Buble has got going for him over Frank is the great sound engineering that's now available that wasn't during the '50s. Just imagine what Frank would sound like if he recorded with the same equipment back then that Buble has got at his disposal (David Foster and Humberto Gattica, 2 of the greatest producers/mixers/engineers ever)and it just boggles the mind just how good he'd sound on cd. Over here, an admirable job has been done of remastering to the extent that's possible with the clearly old master tapes. This is probably the best sounding Sinatra one-disc compilation that there is. Highly recommended.

"Got the world on a string.....sitting on a rainbow.....la la la". Frank glows on these treasures, and so does Nelson's arrangements, which accent perfectly and keep everything swinging happily. These songs will keep you hip and chipper.
Frank at his frankiest!
