Fats Domino - The Fat Man: 25 Classic Performances
The Fat Man: 25 Classic Performances Review
Fats Domino was about as sunny as any '50s rocker; he just wanted you to have a good time. The Fat Man is a value-packed disc full of the great singles that defined the New Orleans singer-pianist's ebullient, lighthearted style. By casting a wide, 25-song net, it also allows for some of his rare moans of dissatisfaction to creep in: "Blue Monday," "Valley of Tears," the raised-eyebrow "Poor Me." But for salve, there's "Blueberry Hill," "I'm Walkin'," "Whole Lotta Loving."... --Rickey Wright

Great album in all respects!

This is a must have for anyone who wants to have a good time with '50's rock 'n roll! The sound quality starts off as okay (due to the age of the recordings) but as it progresses, it becomes excellent. Still, one can't have everything - and even with the rolled off high end of the first few songs it's ALL good listening.

Highly recommended.
