This album is essential if you love great music. If you love Jazz and Chet baker in particular you simply have to own it. It is a marvel. Chet, Philip Catherine and Rassinfosse were a tremendous unit. They swung like crazy without a drummer, but they were also able to play tender and impressionist Jazz music. Simply they played each tune with the right attitude in the best way. When Chet was on he was unreachable. The Charlie Parker's statement reported by Miles "you two (Dizzie and Miles) you better watch out because in California there's a guy who can knock you out" was absolutly true. When Chet was on, not too much destroyed by the heroin, he was incredible, almost unreachable. On this album he was on. Absolutly. Absolute Chet.
