Brandy - Never Say Never
Never Say Never Review
Brandy has a lot to prove. She's had five Grammy nominations; she's won one Billboard Music Award, one American Music Award, and several Image and Soul Train awards; and she's sold over 4 million records--all by the age of 19. Never Say Never enters the scene after four years of sophomore jitters and plain old fear. And it enters with a bang. Brandy's voice suggests serious vocal training from her father, and strong songs--some written by her now-19-year-old woman-child self--attempt to take R&B back to its proper plateau. The album's first single, "The Boy Is Mine," and the Mase duet "Top of the World" serve as proof that Brandy still has the chops, determination, and cuteness to take a record to the top. --Asondra R. BRANDY'S COMING-OF-AGE ALBUM

I went so excited over this CD. This CD was in heavy rotation since my cousin purchased it back in August 1998. This album is full of hot R&B styles and sultry ballads. Brandy makes mediocre material convincing. Her voice shines above it. This album has been flying off shelves since it was released. She has really matured on this album. I love this album so much that I listened to it all the time. She and Rodney Jerkins structured this album very well. Their chemistry works well together. Overall,Get this album!! You will love it!!

The hot album of 1998!

Brandy has matured a lot since her debut album. Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins produced the majority of the albums' tracks. The Diane Warren-produced "Have You Ever" was a pop smash. Even the hit song "The Boy Is Mine" featuring Monica, was a double-platinum smash. Brandy had the potential to co-write more songs than her debut. This album is talking about a young woman finding out about relationships and life. Hot beats,Brandy's delivery, and style is all over this album. This album ranges from soulful ballads and infectious pop-R&B grooves. This album paved the way for the sound of R&B in 2000.

I'll never say never

I think this is Brandy's best album, It was certified multi-platinum, with #1 singles as "The boy is mine", "Top of the world", "U don't know me" and "Have you ever". This was the year when Monica and Brandy were "in", but unfortunately, talentless singers such Britney and Mandy Moore had to appear and tear apart these gifted divas. Pop industry applied the Brandy-Monica status to create Britney and Christina's rivality, but it didn't work. (Because Brandy and Monica can sing) And that's why I am not a pop fan anymore.
"Never say never" went multi-platinum, and it has sold more than 10 millions worldwide. "The boy is mine" went #1 for 13 weeks.
"Never say never", as Brandy's best album has all kinds of rhythms, you'll not regret. Trust me and never say never.
