Boyz II Men - Xmas Interpretations
Xmas Interpretations Review
Caveat emptor, as the Romans once said: Let the buyer beware. There is a very good reason why the word "interpretations" is used in the title. Anyone looking for classic, standard, note-for-note renditions of their favorite Christmas songs will not find them here. That said, anyone looking for a unique and stylized collection of soulful holiday songs will not be disappointed--especially those who are Boyz II Men fans. The Boyz's rich harmonies and soaring flights of vocal fancy are their sonic calling card, and they display their talents at every turn here. Their reverence for the holiday is particularly evident with their treatment of "Silent Night." "Let It Snow," "You're Not Alone," "Share Love," and "Cold December" are also included. Why "A Joyous Song" is not already a Christmas classic is hard to say. Here's one last warning: don't be surprised if you find yourself wanting to listen to some of these songs long after the holiday season is over. --Steve Gdula

Forget what you think you know

Forget what you think you know about Boyz II Men. I'm not a fan, and wrote them off as another pre-packaged band - and they still may be, I don't know - but this album is pretty good, and, if nothing else, track 5 (A Joyous Song) is worth buying the album used for.

A lot of people will pass by non-traditional Christmas albums, but this one is pretty good (especially if you are like me and make Xmas compilation's for the car).

My favourite Xmas CD

The boyz Xmas CD from 1993 is a masterpiece like everything else they've done. Apart from 'Silent night', sang acappela, it consists of original Boyz ii men songs. Like everything else they've done, there's not a weak song in here and some are amazing like the harmony laden 'who would have thought' dealing with falling in love on xmas day and the lead single 'Let it snow', a collaboration with Brian Mcknight. This and Mariah's 'Merry Xmas', are the only CDs I play every Xmas.

A great Christmas CD!

This is the best Christmas album I have ever heard. I bought this album on tape back when it first came out and I still listen to it every Christmas. My tape is starting to wear down so I need to pick up the cd very soon. Their soulful harmony is guaranteed to get anyone into the Christmas spirit. I have often found myself listening to this album whenever I needed a pick-me-up. This cd is one that every Boyz II men fan should get and anyone that loves Christmas songs will not be disappointed either.
