Boyz II Men - Legacy: Greatest Hits Collection Review
Legacy is the right title for this album. Boyz II Men were the original, modern-day boy band, predating both 'N Sync and the Backstreet Boys. Heavily influenced by doo-wop groups such as the Platters and the Dells and developed by ex-New Edition member Michael Bivins, Boyz II Men quickly rose to heavyweight status after the foursome's 1991 debut, Cooleyhighharmony, their success based on romantic ballads and strong vocals. However, they lacked the charisma and looks to really make an impact on the world, and they're perhaps the only group that could be described as "quietly" selling 35 million records. This collection of their best moments concentrates on their strengths as crooning Cupids, exemplified by their massive hit and classic ballad "End of the Road" (taken from the Boomerang soundtrack). "Hey Lover," featuring LL Cool J, is as energetic as the album gets. Legacy is unabashedly assembled for lovers of slow, romantic bedroom soul. --Jake Barnes

Boyz II Men at their best!

I was an avid fan of Boyz II Men when their CDs were still being released and at one point I owned every single one of them. As time passed by I realized that I had no idea what happened to all of them. I would get one of their songs stuck in my head and couldn't find the CDs anywhere. So instead of buying all of their albums again, I figured I would just get the greatest hits. I'm glad I did! This album captures the finest work done by this group. All the best songs are on here and you can't help but enjoy yourself while listening. Would recommend to any Boyz II Men fan or anyone who wants some great R & B music.

this is not REAL black music

These guys were the nirvana of r&b,
motown, soul, black music in the 90s. As nirvana
was the band that ended good white music.
boyz to men was the band that ended good black music.
I am kinda pissed because nobody seems to notice
it like i do. These guys especially the lead singer would
always sing, oh wah oh wah oh oh ohhh oh after every sentence.
I mean compare these guys to kool and the gang or the commodores or rick james.
i could name tons and im not really a fan of soul type music.
barry white, whitney houston, bobby brown, the temptations
Isaac hayes luther vandross.
i mean in the 90s i think almost every r&b group was
better than boyz to girls. i dont understand why
these guys are so popular.
I guess its just like seinfeld it sucks bad
but people like it. its like all these idiots
were born yesterday forgetting about quality
music and sitcoms from the past that were better.
