I had no idea the boy could spin like this

For years now I've been hearing that Boy George was spinning, & I was scared ta death to give him a whirl. To be honest, I didn't know what to expect. I bought this because I read a review that gave it 4 stars and concluded with the following statement: "More than anything, this perfect timing and grasp of tension and release showcases how much Boy George continues to evolve as a DJ, from a one-time novelty to a professional talent."

With such a good review and knowing how I love progressive house, I decided to give this mix a try. And child, I'm sure glad that I did! A few of the songs had me jumping through da roof! Not only was I shocked at how well the boy could mix, but also at the selection of more obscure tracks that one doesn't find on yer average compilation. There are some kick... songs with a beat that will make ya jump to yo' feet. If this doesn't make ya wanna dance than "bang, bang--you're dead!" Or maybe you should try one of those top 40 loser dance CD's.

Boy George had been to Twilo (NYC) once but I didn't check him out. After listening to his ESSENTIAL MIX album on Launch, I decided to buy it and I enjoyed it because it was different from a lot of the albums/tracks I'm used to. After reading the reviews for this album, I was shocked to hear that he had switched or at least for this album, to house music. House being my preferred choice of electronica music especially progressive house, I bought this album as well. Listened to its entirety last night while cruising in NYC, the ablum is lack for a better phrase "The Bomb!" and what I mean is that this album was/is REAL good. Anyone and everyone who likes house music will definitely like this album. Don't let the name Boy George throw you off, although, he uses his own vocals in a few songs, the music is a blast to listen to. I will bet any amount of money if you let you friends listen to this album and ask if they like it, they will definitely say yes but when you tell them it's by Boy George, they'll be in shock just like my brother was. I actually wanted to go clubbing last night because of music. <=oP What are you waiting for?? Buy the CD!!

Boy George is a way better DJ than any of you can imagine. He's good at creating a mood, whether it's housey, progressive, or downtempo BG can rock the tables. He has obviously been involved in the dance scene for a long time so he knows what he likes and that's important in a DJ. I recommend this CD to anyone who likes dance music in any way, shape, or form.
