If you like this album, if you like the title track, it might inspire a few hard core fans to know that the original inspiration for both the name of the band, and especially the title track, is the masterpiece of a western, "Bad Company"- 1972. The whole piano instrumental is practically lifted from the film's soundtrack, by "Fantasticks" Harvey Schmidt. The song is a very haunting one which was a bit of an enigma for me until I saw the film itself. It stars Barry Brown and Jeff Bridges. It's worthwhile for not only western fans of every considerable imagination, but to fans of the band itself, to help make the song more meaningful, as it has for me!! I highly recommend them both!

This ought to ruffle some feathers...

Great debut album.
While Bad Company was far from the best band of the 70's, I will say this...Paul Rodgers is one of the 4 best rock vocalists EVER, along with Robert Plant, Roger Daltrey, and Freddie Mercury. It's just too bad that Rodgers fronted a band with only average musicians. But when it comes to classic rock vocalists, Rodgers was one of the best.
I do have to agree with the one reviewer's comment that Bad Company was nothing more than a good garage band. But man, what a lead singer.

My 18-year-old daughter recently discovered Bad Company, so I sent her off to college with a copy of this CD and a vintage Bad Company t-shirt. Who knew?
