Some Questionable Choices

I just picked up this album today, and have already listened to it all the way through. "Greatest Hits"? I think not. Let me go on the record and say that 311 is probably my favorite band of all time.

I think that the music they make is some amazing, and I have akways wondered why "Down" is the only song of theirs that gets descent radio play. This record has some great tracks, I was suprised by "Beyond the Grey Sky","Flowing", and "Love Song" on here. These are all great songs, but Where is some of the others from "Chaos" and "Evolver". I thought that "Don't Dwell" easily should have made the list. Why is "Beautiful Disaster" on here? It's a great tune, but there are so many more songs on "Transistor" that could have made the list.

Do I love 311? Yes! Do I love this album? No!. I reccomend this if you are a die-hard collector, like me, but if your a casual 311 fan, go pick up "Evolver", "Transistor", and of course "311".

Make your own Best Of album. Sorry Nick, Peanut, etc... This one could have been better!

good mix with extras

For most real 311 fans like myself, a greatest hits CD is made from my own selection of songs, and I have several mixes with different types of songs. This is, however, a great CD to get people into 311 (late in the game) with a couple of extra tracks that aren't on their widely distributed albums. I definitely recommend it even to hardcore 311 fans, if for no other reason than to have every one of this awesome band's albums!

FUNKROCKSKA & SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

THERE WAS A TIME WHEN IT WAS UNSPEACABLE TO MIX METAL OR EVEN ROCK GUITARS WITH RAP VOCALS, BUT BANDS LIKE RED HOT CHLI PEPPERS, FAITH NO MORE AND OF COURSE 311 BROKE THE TABU, ALL THANKS TO THAT VIDEO OF AEROSMITH WITH RUN-DMC SINGING "WALK THIS WAY".
IF YOU'RE NEW TO THIS BAND, THIS CD CAN BE A GOOD WAY TO START, AND IF YOU LIKE THAT YOU HEAR, THEN I RECOMMEND, THE 2001 ALBUM "FROM CHAOS" AND OF COURSE THE ALBUM THAT HAS MADE THEM A CULT BAND IN THE ALTERNATIVE SCENE, THE 1995 EPONIMOUS OR "BLUE ALBUM".
