Practical Magic: Music From The Motion Picture Review
How do you put together a soundtrack for a comedy about witches--'90s style? Well, if she's young and her name is Sabrina, you compile an album of relentless teen pop and R&B hits. But if your witches are a little more mature (and, perhaps, suburban), as in Practical Magic, you use a different formula. And the brew found here is actually a good mix: Faith Hill gets as much play (one track) as Nick Drake and Joni Mitchell. Mitchell's "A Case of You" is simply great, and Bran Van 3000's "Everywhere" fits the folk-pop mold nicely, as does upstart Michelle Lewis's "Nowhere and Everywhere." The guys are the oddities here: Elvis Presley's "Always on My Mind" and Harry Nilsson's "Coconut" give this disc some fun quirks. --Jim Young

Hesitating stops now!

If you are hesitating between buying this album and letting it be, stop hesitating now and click that buy button! This is one of the best CD's that you could ever get, I listen to this whenever I want something relaxing, something inspiring, something to get me thinking, something to be me dancing. Heck, I just listen to this /all the time!/

It's not often when you come across a CD where you honestly like every song on the entire track. But I can say right here and right now that each of these songs is competing for the top of my favorites list. They are all amazing in each of their own ways.

These songs aren't overplayed now, and no matter how many times you play them over, they never sound overplayed. You'll love this album, I promise!

i got this album for free after entering a movie contest but i definately would have paid to $15 bucks to get it myself had i not won it. It is definately one of the best albums i own. Just look at the reviews! It doesn't need help from very very big stars (ok, faith hill and stevie nicks and elvis are big...) but the songs are not the most recent - this album doesn't use this to attract buyers. What we find is a unique blend of songs that fit the movie perfectly. If you liked the movie, you will love the album. If you haven't seen the movie, the album is good and still a delight and will perhaps make you want to see the movie.

You definetely must have an acquired taste for this deep of music. Any avid fan of Nicks or Joni Mitchell will love this entire CD. The Album was made for sad, lonely, happy and silly days. It will make you think about your feelings and find some that are hiding!!! It is in my opinion, for my taste the best CD you could ever ask for!
